The Matronix A-B Scan Combo Ultrasound System integrates A-scan ocular biometry and B-scan diagnostic imaging into one ophthalmic platform. It supports accurate eye measurements, intraocular lens power calculations and detailed examination of posterior ocular structures.

The A-scan mode measures axial length, anterior chamber depth, lens thickness and vitreous-body length. These measurements assist with cataract-surgery planning and IOL power calculation using formulas such as SRK-II, SRK-T, Binkhorst, Holladay, Hoffer-Q and Haigis.

Its B-scan mode produces two-dimensional cross-sectional images of the eye and orbit, helping clinicians examine the retina, vitreous and optic nerve. Dynamic scanning can support the assessment of ocular lesions, foreign bodies and tumours, particularly when cataracts, trauma or other media opacities prevent direct visual examination.
